6th UPDATE - August 2003

Time for an update to the site. Should really be known as UPDATE 5.5 as there as are still items PENDING, but never mind!

First of all many thanks for the support I have received in regards to the legal action taken by Rolex. The action is still on-going and I will give a full update when it is finally dealt with.

Many thanks, also, to every one who has supplied information regarding their watches, such as serial numbers, dial configurations and purchased dates etc etc etc - keep it coming.

I have added a new links, new photos (PENDING), slowly adding new watches for sale(PENDING), a page showing the most expensive Red Rolex ever sold at auction and finally the article on the battle between Rolex and Smiths in regard to the watch worn on the top of Everest is complete (PENDING)!

There is more in the pipeline and if you want to receive notification of when it is updated, drop me an
e-mail

Welcome to RedWatches.com. This re-named site is an attempt to give some insights into Rolex Sports watches, with particular interest in the first Rolex ‘Submariner’ sports watches that incorporated a date; the Red Submariner and Red Sea-Dweller

I hope you enjoy reading the various pages within this site and find it interesting. As with all research there is a caveat, it is neither complete, nor definitive. The information in this site is mostly my personal research and opinion, unless credited to another author, and as such represents what I have been able to establish. I would welcome any feedback, be it agreeing or disagreeing, with what I have written. After all the only way to become more knowledgeable about a subject is to continue to learn.

I am always interested to hear from owners of
Red Submariners, Red and White 1665 Sea-Dwellers and Comex Submariners/Sea-Dwellers, as the more information I can glean, the more accurate any assumptions can be. If you have one of these watches I would be grateful if you visit this page:

I must thank the many owners of these watches that have kindly supplied me with information that has aided in this site and I would enjoying hearing from others. If you want to contact me regarding this site just press on the icon ‘CONTACT ME’
